The Azalea is originated from the beauty and sadness felt in the dim, fleeting moments when deep pink azaleas appear to luminesce at the moment day and night cross, then soon become invisible in the darkness. Deep pink LED lights were attached to each blossom of artificial azalea clusters, which were then installed where azaleas were in bloom and kept turned on for a full day. As the sun begins to set, the deep pink does not disappear into the darkness but gradually begins to luminesce fiercely and as the night turns into morning, the distinction fades.

The Fake Flower Series, including Azalea, has been developed and practiced through various ways until now.

진분홍색의 진달래가 낮에서 밤이 되는 어둑어둑한 찰나의 시간에 더 발광하듯 보이고 이내 어둠에 보이지 않을 때 느낀 아름다움과 슬픔에서 출발한 작업입니다. 기성 제작된 진달래 조화 다발의 꽃송이마다 진분홍색의 LED조명을 달고, 이를 진달래 꽃이 피어있는 곳에 설치한 후 하루의 시간동안 함께 켜두었습니다. 해가지기 시작하면 진분홍색이 어둠에 사라지지 않고 점차 발광하고 밤에서 다시 아침이 되면 잘 보이지 않습니다.
